Terrierist
Just had a b-e-l-t-i-n-g morning, It was one of those that you don't expect. Rape is growing nicely and the pids are keeping off it round here, but decided to have a wander out to my favourite spinney to ambush them as they came in to digest/have a kip/get frisky I only had just over two hours as I had a prior commitment, got to the spinney at 8 this morning, no deeks, just 75 shells, gun and my trusty flecktarn camo gear, plus headveil. Walked about 150 pids out of the spinney and decided not to shoot at any going out, which I must admit makes a change for me. Well... Come 10 o'clock, I had 17 shells left and 25 woodies, the blighters just kept coming in! Best shot was a left and right whilst the keeper was on the phone to me asking how I was doing! A totally un-planned bash, and look what happens, am I a happy bunny or what?? Do you think not shooting at the birds leaving made a difference? All the best. berettaman
If you read Archie Coates book he does indeed recomend restraining yourself whether it be field or wood ,walk them off and shoot them in,wise man eh?

I bought it recently from Amazon.. It was just that exactly which prompted me to restrain! Been back out today walking the woods through for foxes, another 100 or so in the spinney, let the keeper have a bash tho eh?
