Pinkfooty
Last issue was the March/April one. It had a picture of a woodcock (or was it a snipe? Can't quite remember) on the cover. Next issue should be out early May. The reason I don't still have it is that I always take my BASC magazines to the barber's shop or the dentist's waiting room when I go so that they get more widely read. The BASC magazine really is a superb way of spreading a positive image of shooting amongst the general public. I think it was a woodcock. Otherwise known as a "fat birdy", as my nephew described it! Mind you, a cock pheasant on a Shooting Times was also a fat birdy. A mallard, however, was correctly identified as a quack quack and, strangely, an owl was an "owl bird".

It's refreshing to get away from those poncy Latin names. Somehow Anas Platyrhynchos doesn't have the same authority as 'Quack quack' LOL Bill
