I was up at the gun smiths at NWSS earlier in the year and Stewart was telling me about a new line in carbon fiber bottles. light weight, no rust, seems a no brainer, but I am still a little worried that they might not be strong enough though he tells me they are 300 bar. Any one use one ?

used the 300 bar 6.8ltr one for a few years(till i got an fac) and they are very good.very light too.

also had the 300 bar 9 litre one, also very light and both give very good fills.

they used to have a 15 year life cycle and as they were new at the time, this may have changed.

if you get one,you will not regret it.

they have been out for some years,as i had mine about 4 years ago,so not a new thing.

  • 1 year later...

I have recently retired from the fire brigade (sorry service!), and had been using carbon fibre cylinders for a few years. They are soooo light compared to steel cylinders and are brilliant. They are also quite fireman/woman proof, and they has even bigger ones for extended duration uses. I would get one in a flash. :good:
