one of my bantams has been sitting on eggs for a while, and today i could hear a cheaping from under her. it was a chick that couldnt break out of its shell properly i left them and went to work thinking it would find its way out but it was still struggling when i got home. i gave it a helping hand but the mother refused to look after it and kept kicking it out into the cold. its now in the house under the lamp so hopefully it will be ok. the hen is a first time mother so needs a bit of practice i think. nevermind one more hen for the collection. :oops:post-20884-1273947312.jpg

he didnt make it im afraid. i was up most of the night keeping an eye him he dried out and fluffed up nicely but there was something wrong with his neck/spine he couldnt stand or hold his head up just kept curling up backwards and laying there heavy breathing, couldnt get him to eat or drink either. tried giving him a drop of water off my finger but he would kind of choke and bubbles would come out of his mouth so by this morning he was looking pretty weak. so i put him out of his misery this morning
