sg1
I have within the last hour acquired a Laurona O/U 12g 27.5" double trigger shottie and was wondering if it's a quality clay shooter ? Not that it makes any difference but it has an engraving of dogs on one side and Pheasants on the other. One other thing..... when the gun is broken for loading and then closed, the barrel opening lever 'pops up' about 1mm and needs to be pushed back down into postition!! is this a common thing?? Any info would be nice . ATVB sg1

You don't say what model you've got but with double triggers and the engraving you describe i'd guess it's a game gun. No real problem with that but it's probably fairly light compared to a dedicated clay gun so you may suffer after shooting say 100 cartridges in a relatively short space of time. Double triggers won't really help either. If it fits well and you're comfortable shooting with it fine, but try shooting a dedicated clay gun for a while and you'll soon notice the difference. The top lever shouldn't pop up like that so probably best to get it looked at.
stoggieman
Had one of these about 30yrs ago they are fine guns for most jobs. You may find that it is single selective on both triggers .Try cocking it dry firing then tap the bottom of the butt hard with your hand and you will find it will fire the other barrel on the same trigger. Saves moving levers over to get a different choke.

My father has a Beretta O/U single trigger which is heavier than this Laurona and I used it last time for a round of 50 clays where I hit 8!! so I don't think I'm ready to judge shotties on their performance yet LOL , but in saying that- it DID feel nicer compared to my SxS 12g
