njc110381
I've just bought a tired old SBS to do up. The Name written on it is Fusil Robust and it's a model 202. I understand this is a French maker and the gun dates from approximately 1930? Does anyone know a more detailed history of the maker? For example did they make their own guns or buy in a re-badged cheapo etc? It's quite a nice gun and feels like a reasonably good quality tool. It's just been well used and neglected a bit. Hi, I used one for wildfowling when I was still living in France, they had a huge following then. They were produced by Manufrance in St Etienne (the heart of gun manufacturing) until the late 70's I think. They were well made, could last forever (hence the name) and were reasonnably cheap. Manufrance ceased trading for a while but the company reapeared, there's even a website if you want to look at. Xav
