Laser chequering on Brownings/Mirokus

Anybody know when Browning/Miroku introduced laser chequering on their guns? Not before the year 2000, so far as I can tell from photos of advertised guns, and probably about 2005 is my guess. I should add that I don't like laser chequering because it tends to be too fine (I know that more lines per inch is supposed to be better on traditional guns but it's not to my taste) and not very deep, and is not capable of being re-cut.
