Hi all,

I have two brand new unopened carbon monoxide alarms up for grabs. Made by EI electronics and powered by AA batteries which are included, these retail for Around £20 in sinsburys and Wilkinsons.

With Autumn around the corner and your central heating due to start working, having one of these in your house is worth serious consideration especially if you have an older boiler or open fire.

Hi all,

I have two brand new unopened carbon monoxide alarms up for grabs. Made by EI electronics and powered by AA batteries which are included, these retail for Around £20 in sinsburys and Wilkinsons.

Yours for £15 each which includes recorded delivery within the UK.

With Autumn around the corner and your central heating due to start working, having one of these in your house is worth serious consideration especially if you have an older boiler or open fire.

I have a couple of CO alarms in the house and cannot stress enough how important these are, everyone goes on about smoke alarms but CO is just as big killer but the thing with CO is you do not know it is there unlike smoke, also CO clings to your blood cells better that oxygen so your body like CO better,

We at work are doing a study, one of the guys has written a white paper on it, over the past few years we are responsible for over 80% of recordable cases of CO poisoning in London, be it from faulty heating, fire calls, blocked flu's / chimney etc and we refer direct to the hyperbaric chamber at Whips Cross Hospital,

As you can see i am really plugging this thread and no i don't know the author, but i strongly believe that CO alarms should be fitted as a matter of course when fitting smoke alarms

Fully agree with you :hmm: someone with kids should buy these. My daughter was poisoned not at about 6 months old. hospitalized and everything, frightened the pants off me. The boiler had failed in some way, and was throwing the fumes back into her bedroom. On arrival at the hospital , we had one very floppy daughter and if i remeber, she had 8%CO in her blood and was very very sick. Pulled through after a couple of days, but now we have one above the boiler just in case.
