Good day out for the lads

Finally managed to wangle my way out to pigeon shoot today with FM and the old man. Got out around 1pm and set the hide up tucked in to a hedge row and underneath a feral apple tree. soon enough the birds started passing but unfortunatly none were really coming in to land. Luckily enough the hide was situated in between 2 very busy flight paths and the fun began. With myself leaving the old man in the hide and creeping to the opposite corner of the field and hiding in a ditch after an hour. After the first 3 were narrowly missed finally managed to bag the next 2 for 2 shells. The afternoon was fairly successful even with a visit from the local armed response unit as some woman was complaining her house felt like it was falling down with noise (there was no houses for at least 400m in any direction so she must have hearing like an elephant) so after the usual check ups the day carried on. After getting used to the sporadic ebb and flow of pigeons and the arrival of FM the bag was a small but enjoyable 11 between us. It really would have been more but managed to lose 2 in the thick hedge behind the hide and the police's visit managed to waylay a good 40 minutes of prime shooting time.
