Never tried a .410 hushpower, I have a few .410's though and wouldn't use them for anything more than close rabbits or squirrels, in which case I would use my moderated air rifle if I wanted to be silent as I don't think you can beat that.

The pattern of 8 grams of shot compared to 24 grams, and the fact you can get subsonic 12 bore cartridges much easier than you can get .410 subs made me go for a 12 bore. It was quiet enough.

The twleve I had had a 3" chamber, so I would have used hevi-shot for duck through it, 3" BB's for foxes or any other combination. .410 is sooo limited

Tis hard to say how loud it is as obviously it sounds much quieter down range, but I was impressed with it. I have read of putting an inner tube over the barrel to take the 'ping' out of the report but I didnt bother with that.

Believe you can get over and unders and you can certainly get pumps/semis which are moderated.

Depends how good a shot you are and what you want to use it for.

I got mine at the Midland Game Fair last year from Ladds for £220. They reckoned they generally had some in stock (one on thier site at present 12g hushpower). York Guns had some advertised when I was looking too but sold it before I got there - don't appear to have any in atm. There are 2 x 410 & 1 x 12g on Gun Trader at present.

Using Subsonics they are pretty quiet - the 410 with standard fourlongs is about the same noise from the safe side at least.
