kipper
Been out to Lincoln area for last two weekend's where we have a lot of land to shoot over and have hardly seen any pigeons at all. even the crows are not there like they usually are!!!!!!!!!!!!! Set up in hide twice last weekend and only shot 5 pigeons between two of us in 2 days Not a problem of them not decoying but they just wasn't there, empty sky, saw more buzard's than pigeons. Strange Anyone else in Lincoln area noticed the same thing or have you got them all in your freezer??? proTOM1
Plenty round me just a bit hard to pin down ,at this time of year its all about reccon and covering as much ground as possible to give your self the best chance . I covered over 100 miles today looking and found plenty of birds but like i said well scattered , i even found over 100 birds on fresh rape with the rape being just a few inches high . Things will start to improve from now when they get some of the stubbles ploughed in . Got lots of drilling going in in the next week or 2 which should also bring some good days and still got beans to be cut !
UKPoacher
I agree with Tom. There's a lot of choice for them at the moment and it doesn't take long to fill their tanks with that spillled grain and beans layed about. The pigeons will be back in numbers when the stubbles are cleared and the rape starts to show through. As the young game birds are now out and about I've switched to airgunning for a couple of months. Clearing up the vermin that is attracted to the feeders. kipper
We dont usually have trouble locating the pigeons on the farms we shoot, and one place we shoot on is normaly very good for crows as there is a very good flight line to a neighbouring pig farm. even the crows have vacated. Ended up packing up and heading to the local pub for a few  and a few games of pool with my bro. None of the farms we shoot have had any rape this year, its all been set with wheat. I hope they are setting some rape for winter / spring, fingers crossed. Thank's for replies. Kipper

I was on a chicken farm out there 3 weeks ago. never any shortage of rabbits on there (nature reserve runs down 1 side of the farm) shot 14 rabbits with the air gun, 6 of them had mixie What a waste. only thing they are any use for is baiting Mr fox. Lets hope things pick up soon, Kipper
