Longnets

hi all,

I have been using two 50 yard longnets this season and have had some reasonable success during the daytime, the question is how high are your longnets set approx, how long are the pegs you use??, the wooden poles/pegs I have are about 2 and a half foot tall and seem to do the job it just looks so low in comparison to pics of others I've seen. I caught 9 rabbits on saturday using the longnet but a couple did hit the top of the net and roll over it.

Finally, most of the warrens i have done are usually out in the open or in spinneys, therefore I have just surrounded in a semi circle the side I think the rabbits are going to bolt to (direction of nearest cover) is their any tips for doing long stretching hedgerows (40-60 yards long), do you run parralel (sp?) each side or do you just semi circle each net either end of hedgerow??? or anything else.

Thanks in advance

Sorry for long post

for long hedgerows you need to put nets across the hedges to stop the rabbits from running back down the holes. as for your setting height of your nets my pre set nets are set at about 20 -22 inches and the traditionel hemp nets i use the setting hieght is between 18 and twenty inches .ive had rabbits jump my preset nets in the day but at night they cant see the nets so there in the bag
