Anyone use multi metal wads?

I'm wanting to know whether the 3" Multi metals stand up to steel shot in 3.75mm??

 

I've noticed they also do a tungsten wad thats supposed to be tougher. Anyone know if they'd be OK to use?

buy mylar wraps, they help with bigger steel. it stops "pinning". -pin holes in wads.

most multi metal wads arnt tungsten proof.

 

tungsten TPS wads are suitable for everything.

 

mylar wraps are good, get the thick one

I don't want them for tungsten, just 3.75 mm steel, so am wondering if anybody's used them with the larger shot.

if you are using large steel shot in a "multimetal type wad" you can add an extra protection layer, of a thick mylar wrap on the inside of th Multimetal wad.

Thanks, any idea how much that'll reduce the space on the wad?

not much, they are less than .050" thick. also you may want to, put the mylar roll in the wad, and then cut the wad if it wasnt already.

then rotate the mylar wrap, so that the mylars cuts are in the centre of the multimetal wads petals. should take a 1/4 turn,

this is to reduce the wrap interfearing with the pattern.

 

or dont bother, cutting the mylar, some folks do some dont, horses for courses.

3" multi metal and 3.75mm? peace of cake shot up to 4.8mm in them no wrap no buffef no problem! watch out for thoughs vp70 there not so tough just dont thrash them to hard
