tommygoose
I am thinking about buying a flapping owl for crows/magpies, but before i buy i would like to know if they are any good and if anyone has any tips on using them, either with air rifle or shotgun. Any other info would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Edited October 13, 2010 by tommygoose
Beardo
i've still not come across anyone who's had much success with them. Get some decoys and a good call instead (favourite is CorvusSam's, or failing that a Primos Power Crow)
stubby
Ive tried everything to decoy down crows/magpie's, inc a large eagle owl with dead magpie decoy, lofting it up to a nearby tree, all to no avail Im sure I heard the birds laughing as they flew past, thats not to say it wont work for other people, just my experience's http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y29/eastl...r/Image0108.jpg but, give it a go, I wish you luck, someone else on another forum, told of how he had decoyed with success, using a pigeon magnet with a crow deek and a fox tail attached, I therefore put this together in the hope of bringing them in close enough to use the 410 hushpower, as the permission has noise issues http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hryAh2jHODE most likely, I'll hear the birds laughing as they fly past, along with the farmer
