daft dog
Guys, i bought a Umarex Walther CP88 for a bit of fun and to nail a few rats in the garden etc. When i picked it up the guy in the shop loaded a new CO2 cartridge into the gun and it shot fine. I went to have a go with it last weekend and nothing, so i thought the CO2 had run out. Changed it over and when i flipped the clamp on the base of the handle and the pin went through the top of the case all the CO2 escaped...i tried it three times with new CO2 cartridges and each time all i got was a very cold hand (as all the CO2 escaped). My question is....am i just being really special and not loading the CO2 right (surely it can't that difficult. Or is somethign wrong with the gun? maybe the seal has gone? I would take it streight back tot he shop wher ei bought it, but thats well over 100 miles away and i thought i'd see if there was an easy and / or cheap way to sort it out myself instead of paying th epostae to send it back tot he shop. Any ideas guys? many thanks in advance. DD

Guest cookoff013
open the co2 "lever" put a new co2 in. tighten screw so that the co2 canister is touching the pin (tight, not over tight.) flick the co2 lever so that it is flush with the handle (like it was befor you opened it) shoot ! Thats how i have been doing it, but each time its clearly not been making a good enough seal and as such all the co2 escapes (freezing my hand int he process). I'll have another go tonight and if no joy then i'll send it back to the shop where i got it.
lineshooter
You may want to check the seal around the valve where it pierces the Co2 bulb, I had this happen once, bit of debris on the o-ring, a wipe round with a cotton bud and all was ok. just a thought. ellebarto
As above. Not sure it will kill anything though. Its a paper puncher and no more! You'll just give the rat a nasty bruise!!!!

Cheers for all the input guys, saved me a few quid in postage. as for bruising rats...its nailed the three that i have shot at with it so far.....they'll not complain about it.
