Malc
Here's a good money saving tip. Find yourself a friendly fire or burglar alarm engineer, they use the same 12v Gel batteries that are needed for rotary pigeon attracters, peckers, etc. The alarm engineer came to my workplace today and told me that he is required to change these batteries, which are the standby power for the alarms, every 2 years. Needless to say, I helped him dispose of all 8 batteries. (into my garden shed). I've checked and the cheapest 7AH batteries are about £30. He was glad to offload them!!
