Never made a glassfibre stock but spent 40 years in the trade makeing all sorts of things . Most items you see in glassfibre are made from a mould , which in turn is made from a pattern of the item required shaped and finished . a little more complex than slapping it around a tube im afraid, a thick build-up of glassfibre can be quite heavy, if a normal size stock were made from solid glassfibre it would possibly be heavier than wood.

To make a one off item or prototype in glassfibre . depending on the items shape and complexity expanded polyurethane the type used in the insulation boards in the building trade can be shaped, cut and sanded very easily. Once the desired shape is finished cover the entire thing in 2 layers of glassfibre mat, more if the item is to take a lot of punishment or pressure, leave to harden and work on the finish with abrasive paper, coat in layers of resin rubbing down each one when hard to the finish required.

Be warned though , its smelly , messy and can irritate , dont do it on the wifes kitchen table
