Blunderbust
DM that sounds like a great trip and well done on your PB . I am an avid kayak angler and travel all over the UK on trips and meets. My last big one was to the Shark a Tag at Luce Bay in Scotland. Unfortunately I didn't get a Tope but had a few Smooth Hounds and Thornbacks to around the 8lb mark. I bet your freezer won’t need topping up for a while . All the best
vole
Sounds good. I had got really peed off with Whitby so stopped going , last 3 trips with everyone blanking apart from some king size pouting . Not worth the fare but it sounds like it is picking up again . Heilan Coo
I went on a 36hr trip, a few years ago now, and thoroughly enjoyed it Was when John Brennan? was the skipper (sadly passed away) and the weather wasn't the best with us either. Don't think anyone slept on the way out as it was that rough but still had a great days fishing. A couple of cod near the 20lb mark landed by one of the other lads and my best was a 14lb ling, though I did lose something BIG on the last drop of the day. Decided to join two pirks together for more weight as the tide was ripping the line a fair bit away from the boat, anyway hooked into something decent wound in for what seemed like an age when.... bam nothing! Whatever I had on straightened out the 1" split ring linking my pirks Yep a genuine case of the one that got away Anyhoo a cracking boat and a great experience, would recommend it to anyone into seafishing Think I'll have to get back into the fishing again and pay Whitby a visit. How much does it cost for three days and do you take all your own gear? ATB Clynt
