Listing this for a mate of mine as it may be of interest to someone on here as a shooting truck.

Located in Preston and looking for £2000 - I would have had it myself but I already have enough cars and HID would go spare if I tried to sneak another one through.

1974 (Q Plate) – Has proof of age from Dunsfold in the form of a certificate. I am told this is enough to get it an age related plate (N reg, probably). However, I have never bothered trying as I have been happy with it being a Q.

MOT to 1st November 2011.

Taxed until the end of May 2011.

Current mileage is just under 42400 but cannot be proven. However, the previous owner finished the work he did in 2000 and then did not use the Lightweight for several years as he couldn’t drive it. I have had it for two years and last year I did about 700 miles (previous year less than that). So the mileage has not been high for some time.

There is also a large amount of history including a photo of the body off when work was being done by the previous owner. There are receipts for thousands of pounds.

DESCRIPTION:

2.25 Petrol Engine

12 volt electrics

Kenlowe Fan

K&N Filter

Recent new Weber Carb

4 upper spot lights

2 lower spot lights

Weller 8 spokes with Scorpion tyres on which haven’t even lost the writing on them that they come with new.

Recent Exhaust

Roll bar welded to chassis

Full set of hood sticks and a serviceable full hood (still in box from when I bought it on ebay).

Bucket Seats fitted

3 Point Harnesses

Battery in 2008

Comes with a full set of replacement “original” seats which I haven’t got round to fitting.

Parabolic springs

Chassis and running gear are A1

Currently sporting a Bikini Cab softtop which is less than 2 years old. This allows the back to be rolled up and can be removed or put back on in less than ten minutes (probably less than 5 when you get proficient at it!)

Push button start with a hidden cut off switch.

Headlights upgraded to Halogen.

New fuel pump, underseat fill fuel tank and fuel filters.

BITS TO BE AWARE OF:

The last owner painted the bodywork with I think, a cat, as the paint is so thick that it has crazed. However, many people have commented positively on it!

There is a crack in the passenger side screen.

It has a side fill (fuel) entry but I have moved it back under seat because it was put in the wrong place and filling up was a bit difficult. However, until the original seats are fitted filling up under the bucket seat is fiddly.

There are some small places on the body which are steel and which have some corrosion. Nothing major or structural and nothing a treatment and some hammerite won’t sort out.

Heater does not work – needs new water pipe to cure leak. Never bothered with the heater myself, we’re hard as nails us off roaders.

Door locks seem to have given up – new ones provided but not fitted. I never lock it anyway as there is nothing to steal (and there is a hidden cut off).

Fuel Gauge not working – new sender unit supplied in box of spares.

I would be planning to change the water pump if I were keeping the vehicle. It's fine, but it's one of those items that gets neglected and for the price it just makes sense.

Recent MOT advised on cracked glass (as above), insecure battery (now secure), slight blue smoke on start up - it does this, but only when cold for a brief spell, then it is fine. Doesn't use oil that I am aware of.

BOX OF SPARES CONTAINS:

Brake shoes and cylinders for overhaul

Spare steering wheel

Adjustable tow hitch stuff

New fuel tank sender unit

Old side fill tank, not sure what its condition will be.

Hoses and clips

Set of brand new original seats and seat backs with good condition frame to replace bucket seats

All sorts of other spares and bits to help keep it running!
