mrpip
Hi all, after all the snow & ice we had a thaw at the weekend & managed a couple of days out as folloows Saturday weather quite warm no wind as such, set up on a maize stubble field on reclaimed quarry land at the edge of a village, just used the rotor & 2 dead pigeon as my brother set up across the field next to a treeline with 10 dead woodies on cradles. Set up for 11.00 steady shooting, birds decoyed well added 5 fresh ones on cradles in a small group next to rotor finished day with 19 picked up, he picked 4 total 23 Sunday, shot alone 20 mile trip to a large area of rape fields with a small wood in the middle. Cold dull & half the fields covered in snow 300 plus pigeon on the field set up at 10.00. Shot 7 pigeon by 2 o'clock hard to decoy shying away from rotor, tried it without totally ignored decoys, packed up & stood in corner of wood birds dropping on in there way back to roost wood, had a cracking hour & half picked up another 21 all crops stuffed with berries plus freash wheat, probably someones feeders & a little rape. Not massive bags but 2 great days out after all the bad weather.
