clayman
Following apparent total apathy by the Police who see to have no interest in combating fraud, this is an appeal to Pigeon Watch Community members to help locate a stolen trap and put the perpetrators in the frame. In late October 10 a new Bowman Supermatch 6 on low profile barrow trap was paid for by Debit Card transaction and delivered to an address in Birchover Road, Woolaton, Notts. In December we received a charge back notification for £1300 from the card processors as the card used to pay for this trap was a stolen one. We have had to refund the money to the true card owner and the trap's where-abouts is unknown. Our investigations show the resident at Birchover is named as Carl Anderson ( electoral role information for that address), and the signature on the Mitchells Carriers delivery note to the address appears to be this name. Further investigations by ourselves have revealed that the stolen card was used for other fraudulent transactions, including a £1000 bike from the Bike Hut in Cardiff. As a result of Cardiff police investigation a Ben Nurse has been arrested in Nottingham and is on bail for the Cardiff offence, but neither Notts police nor Surrey police appear to have any interest in wanting to connect our lost trap to the Cardiff offence that used the same stolen card details. If PW member has any information about a new Bowman Supermatch 6 trap on trolley appearing with a user in the last couple of months, probably in the Notts area, or knows anything about Mr C Anderson or Mr B Nurse in possible connection with this crime - we would like to know what further info is available in order to try to recover the trap and implicate the perpetrators further so that culprits may be charged. It seems we, the legitimate community, need to do the work I would expect the police to do and hand them the full information on a plate before they will consider further action. Tealeafs only serve to make honest sportsman's enjoyment of our sport more expensive, as the costs of losses such as this ultimately get passed on in retail prices and entry fees. Any assistance that can be given to recover our trap and nail the nasties behind this would be appreciated, and a successful recovery of the trap will be suitably rewarded with a value equal to what our retail profit would have been on a legitimate sale.
