VicW
With the cost of shooting forever on the increase you may interested in some excellent, affordable shooting. Glen Bank Gun Club has been in existence for 25 years and could be described as a 'straw baler'.You remember 'straw balers don't you? It's where many of us started to shoot clays. It is,however,a bit more than a couple of bales and manual trap. We shoot English Sporting,40 birds over five sometimes six stands. We use elecric, remote release traps and metal, mobile cages. There is 50' tower and the shoot layout changes for every shoot to include a full range of target types. We are fully insured and have first aiders and safety officers. We have basic toilet facilities and the refreshments are only tea/coffee and biscuits. Costs for 40 birds are £7 for non members and £5.50 for members with membership at £20/year.You can get two rounds in during the morning with entries open from 0930 to 1100. We have our own classification system for members and there are several trophy shoots a year. There are no cash prizes. We shoot on the first and third Sundays of the month except for the month of Febuary when we are closed. The new memberships start in March.Plastic wads are permitted. The shoot is in Lincolnshire on the old Folkingham airfield between Sleaford and Bourne. There is no post code.On your map locate Sleaford, which is at the junction of the A15 and A17 and then travel south on the A15 for 12 miles. You will come to a x-roads with the Robin Hood pub on your left.Turn right into the village of Aslackby.Proceed down this very narrow lane for two miles until you come to the airfield,go through the gate and you are there. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=aslackby&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Aslackby,+Sleaford,+United+Kingdom&z=13 All are welcome. PM me if you want more info. Vic. Edited January 15, 2011 by VicW
