Worstan
I recently applied for and was granted .243 but when certificate came back the covering letter said that one of the farms I shoot on was only cleared for .17hmr and .22lr. IMO it is safe for .243. Farmland, only a couple of houses, no footpaths etc. Obviously there are places where it wouldn't be safe to shoot but I wouldn't shoot with the rimfires there either. Question is can I ask for the land to be checked again? Typically this farm has the most foxes on it!
David BASC
Yes, of course you can ask for it to be checked again. Some forces though may drag their heels a bit! You can refer them to the written permission from the farmer you gave them and back this up with the fact that there are loads of fox which the farmer needs controlling David

Redgum
My FA dept like you to be with them if possible on the land check, its a good idea to impress them with a little research, soil type, where footpaths run, what you expect to shoot and where, and intallation of highseats. That's not a bad idea, I'll see what they say.
