stuart7166
Hi All, Looking to start Ferreting and loooking for Kits around end of March-Surrey Area. Can anyone advise whether when wanting to keep a pair, but not for breeding, are 2 females a good combinations Thanks All
MJT
Ferrets are better kept in pairs. If you keep jills they will need to be taken out of season (jill jab or vasectomised hob). Hobs will fight if not separated in the summer unless they have there nuts chopped. where in surrey are you? I have a few mates around there that will be breeding this year
Luckyshot
I only work Hobs and keep them together in the same hutch. They do not fight at all if they have been kept together from being kits. On the other hand if they are in contact with Jills then that will cause them to fight. None of my Hobs have been vasectomised either.

I have two hob both from the same litter one vasectomised and one whole they lived together fine for two years but last year had to be separated for this reason. Nuts chopped i should have put castrated.
