Country Boy
Welcome muckybear. Ok so you are new to pigeon shooting, that's fine, are you also a new NPPC member? I guess you must also be new to the countryside? The end of harvest is when the crops have been combined and can be anytime between mid July to the end of September. Each crop is dependant upon the weather both for ripening and for when the farmer/contractor can get on to do it! Next crop due to be drilled could be spring wheat? / beans? / oats or w.h.y? Cheers, C.B. :}
buzzer1
YEP.....Not long come in from work.... been drilling spring barley today and as Country Boy said...Havest starts here about mid July trough to September. Keep ya eyes on any fresh drillings at this time of year as the pigeon will soon hoover up any spilt grain and move on. During harvest keep you eye on the stubbles as ya can get some good shooting especialy OSR (oil seed rape) stubble. Its a shame I cant get to shoot stubbles as I drive a combine!! Good luck.
