KennyB
A very good friend of mine has ask me to help him find a springer which are renown for there steadiness, Although he has seen my two work on many occasions he feels that they would be a little too head strong for him. Only having had rytex/badgercout i must admit they have excellent engines and will go all day at 101mph,My two fellows came from the same breeder and have the same father different mother and are chalk an cheese in temperament one being slightly more steady than the other,Harry was a nightmare as a youngster head down ears closed and end up hunting in the next county (have you been there lol) but has come on since he has matured about 4/5 years old, Iam bringing on a little cocker that i got from Hawcroft gundogs as a hawking dog but iam so pleased with him i may well use him for the gun, my first go with a cocker and he a pleasure to train, Is the way to go?? iam not sure as he has his mind set on a springer!!!, Anyway if anybody knows any breeders that could match his requirment please let me know atb kenny

rickyspringer
Think its luck, I have a dog here who is working bred but not ftch bred on paper you wouldn't think the dog would be anything, but he's special, steady to stock, a dream to own, your best getting your friend to make enquiries and ask alot of Q's about parents, forget the breeding ask more about sires and dam qualities
