Herts Mark
Hi Guys, absolute beginner in Herts / Beds borders. Lucky that i live in the middle of the country surrounded by farmland. recently got my licence and have access to a couple of guns with a longer term view to buy. Done a couple of days skeet and smashed a few. Reasonable previous firearms experience Is it just a case of approaching farmers whose fields i have seen woody's on? or better to try and get a local contact and invite? Any advice would be gratefully received cheers M
deny essex
Always better to meet a farmer face to face , especialy if hes getting hammerd by pigeon but do a little groundwork and show you have the knowlege and responsibility to shoot, give him confidence that you know what you are doing with a gun and what/where and when to shoot. Show willing that you are prepared to act as unpaid security in not so many words. Contacts can be made from takeing a bevy and being sociable at the farmers watering local. Find local game shoots and offer to do some beating when the seasons on. You can get a lot of knock backs but you just have to keep trying.
