sixhills 69
I have just bought a CZ 527 .223 Rem the rifle came with a Scope fitted (FireFox 10-40x50 Es) Seems a lovely clear scope and well built i have taken it out to zero but i could not get the correct distance between my eye and the lens to give a clear view after looking the mount is a 16mm dovetail and i had no further movment between the mounts. I have been searching the net and phoned edger brothers and other large companys to see it they have any mounts for this strange dovetail but no answer some have taken my number and said they will get back to me. any advice my only 2 options that i can think of are 1. Buying an extended front scope mount to give the extra adjustment. 2. Having the gun drilled and taped to fit a weaver rail. Also does anyone know what weight bullet is best for foxing on this rifle i am using Federal (Americam Eagle 50gn flat base hollow points) And does anyone know if they do a polymag for the 527 Cheers Nigel

I am about to get my new CZ 527 in the post and am contemplating the same problems when it comes time to mount a scope. The high bolt handle lift is also a problem on these rifles when mounting a scope. I talked to a guy from Edgar Bros and he recommened a rail by Kozap. When I found a picture of this rail it was not what is required as it does not extend forward past the front dovetail on the rifle. Thus it only really alows the rear mount to be moved forward. The best one I have seen is sold by CZ USA part no 19010. It is a longer type of rail that would do what I would think is required to fix our problems. For some people it would look out of place on the rifle but for me it would be fine as mine is the synthetic version and not so traditional. I live in Australia and CZ USA won't ship it here so I am in a bit of a pickle as to how I am going to get one. Hope this is of some help. Let us know how you go. Regards, Ben. bigstevouk
Millet do rings that fit and possible reach forward mounts, you can also get a weaver adapter for the cz527 i think thats your best bet..... If you search on here somewhere there was some pictures of it I use 40gn and 55gn sierra blitz kings and they work well
