gixer1
Gents, Just wondering if anyone can recommend a trigger kit or procedure to lighten the trigger up on my win 9422? Thanks in advance, Gixer Oops! Can a mod please move this to guns and equipment? Edited March 17, 2011 by gixer1
lineshooter
Have a look here for some ideas, but remember that .22`s need a good hard strike to fire them so best not lighten any hammer springs too much http://www.time-slice.com/mohave.gambler/favorites/LeverGuns/Winchester94.htm Edited March 17, 2011 by lineshooter

lineshooter
Gixer, as I said it might give you an idea if not specific to your gun, the work to the trigger may be the same, polishing the bearing sufaces would`nt hurt, remember though polish not grind away. I did see a post once where one guy polished the action in a Uberti winchester 73 by removing the side plate, squirting in autobody cutting paste and then he shot it for a month before giving it a good clean all the bearing surfaces were like mirrors. Quite a few of the Cowboy Action shooters that use Winchesters in the States complain of the heavy standard trigger pull, hence sites like the link I added. I used a similar page for ideas when slicking up a Rossi 92 underlever, I do have a spare Lee mainspring/hammer kit for a .357 Winchester 94 but as I said reducing hammer force may cause misfires in a .22.
