barrel mounted sling swivel on a single barrel shotgun

i always end up having crows and pigeons floating above me when out with the hmr,( and then tons of 80 yard bunnies when i'm out with the shotgun) - so... i've picked up a dirt cheap single barrel 12g (baikal) which i'm going to paint greenish / camo type and stick a a sling on it to take along as well when i'm off with the rifle.

i brought a set of bisley sling swivels off fleabay - '20mm - 12g said the description' - but i'm absolutley stuffed if i can get it to go on - i can get it round the barrel - but i reckon its at least 2-3mm from the screw even getting through, let alone it doing up

so - i'm either after a longer screw/nut or a bigger band - has anyone else had any joy with this? know where i can pick up a neat looking (ie same colour- blued type) longer screw/nut from ? or where i can get a bigger band from ?

your advice would be much appreciated :good:

Just put the Vernier caliper on mine and yes it is 20mm. Not that I was doubting you. Did you measure the internal diameter of the barrel sling? Is it 20mm when clamped up?

I drilled my forend and just screwed a stud in tbh but I did have trouble finding a barrel sling clamp for my Hubertus o/u as I recall and had to try a few in the shop. A barrel clamp fitting may be the option?
