tikka.223
My friend was cleaning his new Sako and gave the bolt a wipe and the bolt handle is now in the down(firing position) and wont come up again, can these be pulled up the same as the Tikka bolt with a vice? Vipa
My friend was cleaning his new Sako and gave the bolt a wipe and the bolt handle is now in the down(firing position) and wont come up again, can these be pulled up the same as the Tikka bolt with a vice? Just need some leverage... my sako came with a plastic tool (like a doughnut) to make it easier but never the less, it should be a simple case of either imobilising the bolt handle & shroud and turning the body or probably easier to imobilise the bolt and turn the handle. Make sure you use 2 blocks of wood in the vice though... the last thing you want is metal to metal contact!
WGD
What kind of Sako? With the 85 you get a plastic "widget" that the back end of the bolt fits into so it can be spun 360; a vice would do the same thing with something soft around it. WGD
Just checked, it should pop back up from the down position without too much resistance; it does not spin 360 as I posted pre-edit. One popping back up it easily opens the bolt entirely and exposes spring etc. Edited April 28, 2011 by WGD
