sg1
I'm in the process of refinishing one of my SxS's and whilst I was at it I decided to see if I could remove some minor dents/dinks from my Laurona O/U:- I knew I'd have to re-polish afterwards(due to the moisture/heat on the beeswax) but I don't mind sitting in front of tv buffing up my stocks during Antiques Roadshow One damp cloth and a reasonbly hot iron later and..... :- Works quite well doesn't it? atvb sg1
Bowen20
I bought an old side by side that was for lack of a better word 'battered' and I had read somewhere about ironing your stock raises the indentations out of it so I thought what the hell and gave it a go. And it worked. It was more noticeable for me as I sanded the stock down first then wrapped a damp tea towel round the stock and when I had done there were little dark spots everywhere from where they dents had risen and I hadn't sanded. I also had a go at home bluieng now that is really hard.
