Logun S16 - well recieved this as a temp rifle whilst one of mine is being repaired... first I want to comment on how heavy it is in comparison to my others. It only came with the basics .. so silencer and well one mag... I quickly put a scope on and enjoyed assembling it. I have to say it is ideal for those compact trips.. but for me it is a bit too plastic. The only other issue is if you want to remove the mag which holds 8x'2 (16) pellets you have to half cock the gun before your allowed to take out the clip. I had found this a bit dangerous, and luckly I always take precautions ... so listen! after the clip is out... and you had finished your hunt or trip.. but had not used all the pellets.... the rifle will now be loaded!!! take a warning to that.. it is also easy to jam and can be a nightmere... on a rating of 1-10 I have to honestly give it a 7. To me its too little, over priced. and heavy and bulky.

Logun Solo - Had to go to logun because of minor manufactures fault. the barrel threading was over sized and had started to bend the barrel.. noticed this when constantly had to adjust the left and right up and down on the scope. however... before the fault started to take notice fully. I found that this was a fantastic rifle. (well done Logun) very easy to charge, and very simple to use. the single shot pellet is a bit fiddly for those with big fingers/hands. however once mastered you will fall in love with it. real wood, extremely quiet.... light weight and a true joy. the one down side is the finish on the wood itself. it is easy to scratch and the varnish is not 100% but its a mid/ low end budget rifle that does the job and more. I would reccomend this rifle to anyone and everyone. infact on the 1-10 rating it gets a very respectable 9.2!!!!!

AGS-PCR1 - well this rifle was bought at the same time as the solo. I loved it because of the pistol grip shape. the easy to use side action lever and its extremely light weight. However that is really where the positive notes come in place. I have to say that I have sent my rifle to Logun (thank you Simon and Kim) both are extremley helpfull. Sadly it was because of a charging issue. The pre charge system works on a valve simmular to a compressor style. (it clips on). My problem with this rifle was that when charging from the bottle to 195 it would then release all the air again out when you opened the bleed valve on the bottle. I contacted Simon at Logun several times with tips and suggestions to try... as sending away my loved rifle was going to be sad... anyway.. none of the suggestions had worked... and Simon had replaced it with a new one. The new one has the exact same problem but with another (sad to say) common fault as well. the barrel of the rifle wobbles.. So this will be going back as well. The stain on the rifle again is very poor like on the solo, and I would say scratches easier than a lotto scratch card! all in all out of my 1-10 rating. I would sadly give this a 2!!!

I do not recomend this personally, however this may just be a bad luck session going for me on the shooting side.

If you have got to this part well done.. and thanks for reading.

I will post some pictures very soon of these so you can have a look!!!

ok lets start at the top with the S16, you say the only real problem is having to half cock the rifle to be able to remove the mag, which leaves a pellet up the spout? this is a pretty comon thing for any multi shot rifle, apart from the HW100 where you can not recock the rifle after loading (it stops you double loading a pellet if you forget already loaded), there is an easy solution and one you should already be aware of if you shoot in the field, unlike a rim fire/centre fire, where you can safley cock the rifle and remove the unspent round, just point the loaded airgun in safe dirrection and shoot safely into the ground. This works for any airgun single shot or multi shot.

AND REMEMBER NEVER TO CARRY A LOADED MAGAZINE WITH YOUR RIFLE! (even if not inserted in the rifle) apart from when your on land you have permision to shoot.

As for the other two faults i never recomend a new rifle out on the market to anyone, mainly for these exact reasons. These companys do not have enough time or man power to put every design through thier paces, so they release an OK design on the market, then they use thier customer service skills to sort out any problems (feedback) to the best of thier ability. How many times do you hear of a new model car being released, which then has a factory recall issued to sort out something minor (or sometimes major), air guns are no exception to this, there is no way they can test a rifle under field conditions, without it actualy being in the field.

So in 12 montsh time can buy a new rifle from logun and know its going to have all the gremlins ironed out  (unless of course its been sitting in the gun shop for a few months LOL)

I certainly wouldnt let this put you off getting another rifle from either AGC or LOGUN.

ROB

ps told you to get an S410  and if i didnt you should have asked :)

Rob... FYI.. were on too many forums together... ****... as on the other forum.... copy cat!!!

:)

I had to mention the S16 issue because it caught me off guard. however As I stated I always assume the rifle/gun is loaded at all times because of my own safty training... way back when.

I wouldnt let any of this put anyone off logun. as I said Simon and Kim in the service centre are a god send.. and are really fantastic... but I have given a honest review.

It is a shame about the PCR1 because although there have been problems... I just have got the lot... and I hope that it will be sorted soon.

Anyway moving onto the solo... what can I say.. Great rifle... hugh!!! back order at the moment.. because everyone thats fired one.. or Most people agree what a great rifle it truly is...

and oops on the fire arm section.. clicked the wrong sub menu.. lol!!!
