Garry hi Garry it does feed from the MAG with the plunger and extractor modified. but not as as reliable as the smith would have liked. he said to make it feed dead smooth it would need a block in the back of the mag so the tips of the rounds are close to front of mag. and also the bolt would need abit of work around the head. what is happening is as there is a little chamfer on the front of the tikka bolts. the fb case slips round on that which makes it not eject flush. he told me with a bit of wield it would cue that. and I trust him as the gunsmith who is richard pope is pretty smart at these little bits and bobs to get stuff to feed right. if you don't want the bother of that get a sako a1 or sako l461 action. this will then have them feeding dead smooth. also the action is more compact so less weight. i only went for the m595 action as the action and the stock only cost £300. I had the barrel blank for £235 posted off a friend which for a shilen stainless barrel was a bargain. it cost £300 to fit, chamber, screwcut, invisible thread cap, and proof. which was the cheapest qoute i got. but that is because Richard has done stuff for me before. and I have got bits of work from mates. so he always gives me a keen price. if you want a quote off him give him a bell. he is very good with the small calibres and does alot of them for people. 17 rem and 17 ackley hornet is the main ones he does for people. i will warn you though turn around times can be a fair wait.
