triscrx
Every time I head out shooting I see something I wish I could get a photo of so now when I head out with the gun I pack the camera. Nothing fancy just a Canon Powershot A640 but it does the job. I was out on Saturday with the .17HMR and after an Hr or so I had half a dozen rabbits in the bag so I headed back towards the car on the other side of my permission. I always stay very light on my feet when out shooting and remain as quiet as possible and alert as I often see Charlie out prowling about. As I was coming out of an opening in the woods I spotted a Deer (Not unusual on my permission) pulling at a branch about 40 Mtrs from me. So I slowly walked back into the woods to put the HMR on my shoulder and get the camera out of the bag. I was convinced they would hear me as I was pretty close but as the wind was blowing towards me I was downwind luckily. I managed to get the camera out and walk back out to the edge of the wood undetected. I was snapping away trying to get it into focus whilst slowly walking towards it when I noticed a second in company with it! Both completely unaware of my presence. I got within about 25 Mtrs of them before they were out of sight and headed into the woods. Pretty cool experience getting so close and remaining undetected.
