flash
i am looking at replacing the spring in my BSA superstar with a theoben gas ram. i was wandering if anybody on here has used a theoben gas ram in one of their rifles and wether they would recomend them. i would also like to know wether it requires gunsmithing or wether it can be done at home. cheers flash

twocore
it can be done at home,on your own if youve got spring compressor if not you need a mate about six foot tall and 20 stone to get the ram compressed enough to get pin back in use extreme caution if doing it this way, they are better than the spring, you can leave them cocked indefinately and theyre smoother to shoot,if youre not confident fitting a ram let the gunsmith do it better safe than sorry...........ive got a gas ram in my .25 superstar,a v/nice gun wacky and accurate
SNAKEBITE
The recoil on a gas ram is "different" than on a springer is it not?

Foxer
I put a gas ram in my BSA lightning and i can say its probably the best improvement that i have done to my gun, as the accuracy has improved along with it being less noisey and also less/smoother recoil. i made my own spring compressor out of an old jack stand off an old bailer we had on the farm, its not very good but it done that job ok so i was pleased. foxer
