coneyhunter
hello all, i have recently been looking after some ducks, they have been released on a small pond and seem quite happy, the syndicate is looking at trying to make this into a flight pond. There are 12 released ducks on the lake and i have been feeding them barley, im looking at introuducing a call duck to the lake in hopes of attracting and keeping some wild ducks. has anybody got any tips or tricks to attract wild ducks? the pond is located in a small wood and is not on any public footpaths so they are not going to be disturbed Edited June 11, 2011 by coneyhunter
worthy130
Just keep feeding your released ducks with plenty for any others. If wild ducks are in the area and see ducks on a pond they will natrally come into them and as long as there is food there on a daily basis they will keep comming back. coneyhunter
excellent i suspected as much, i used to keep pheasants and used the same gme plan, sadly the pond is in the middle of the welsh countryside and not near any main rivers. worthy130
That won't matter mate! as are our ponds and we have wild duck on them all year. They prefer rivers when the ponds are frozen up. ATB
