hi all , just bought a beretta pump action thats from the 1960s. The problem im having is that the action wont stay shut once youve fired a round, you pull the trigger and the fore end slides back half ejecting the cartridge like a semi automatic . Was just wondering if anyone on the forum can shed any light on this problem ,cheers del

Hi pump actions will let the fore end move rearwards once the trigger is pulled they work different ie you pull on the fore end instead of the stock so once you fire a shot the fore end comes rearward and ejects the shell ready for you to push forward loading another round, i have the same model its a 1964 one

I had one of these, is it a silver pigeon? Didn't get on with it at all. Can't you just keep pulling the forend back after you fire it, continuing the guns movement.

I think these guns are quite rare, but not really worth much, I paid £30 for mine.

Mine wouldn't recycle properly and I had to operate the catch at the back of the trigger guard to get it to cycle.

I looked at a few videos on u tube they show a lot of americans generally using mossbergs that seem to stay shut once fired and they seem to pump the cartrige out and forward to reload , I suppose because the beretta is an older gun its a bit more basic
