Jackmanm15
Hi all. Just a quicky, i'm going to start to do up a bsa meteor that i have had for years! But it needs a new barrel. So a quick search on ebay and i found this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140566265719&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_922 Question is. Wouldn't applying heat to any part of the barrel effect the accuracy of it or straightness of the barrel? Or would it be ok? Gareth.
BSA_Shaun
Well, I would of thought if there's rifling inside the barrel, that would of been slightly melted by the heat of the welder it would cause inaccuracy. Also the barrel might of expanded on heat. I'm no expert but i'm only saying what I think could of happened to the barrel. If it was me I would leave the barrel there, could try the yellow paper or something just put a wanted notice inside it, someone bound to have one! Thanks Shaun. Billy.
Haha, it's called a 'Tube' to stop eBay from taking it down. I'd not bother with this. Whilst the weld might be good, it sounds a bit like a bodge.
