terrior
So pleased with my home made silencer on a daystate tactical .177 Iam never happy with standard gear and can't resist a tinker. After buying a daystate tactical with reflex silencer i was't happy with the size of the silencer due to the barrel travelling a third inside. To the garage i went. I made a silencer on the idea of a weirauch but out of cabon fibre (an old fishing pole section) a wider diameter and with five chambers as apposed to three to defuse more air. The results are breath taking. the noise of the action is louder than out of the barrel. On testing it in the field i stalked up to four rabbits and took three before the fourth sensed something wrong and spooked. Can you imagine that. struggling uploading pics , i'll keep trying....................................

malkiserow
What material did you use for the fiber sections? and how did you hold it in place?
terrior
Hello I used a 35mm carbon tube 250mm long and used a hole saw to drill and cut disc's out of a sheet of 3mm perspex. Started at the exit end glued it flush to the end then used soft mesh with light cloth as spacers to create five chambers. It fits over the barrel as the reflex does 100mm over so doesn't make the rifle to long. finished off with black spray paint. cheers....................
