yds
After sunday morning foxing we often go into the quarry and practice on balloons with 4-5 breaths in, about 4 inch. We can shoot these all day long if the wind is below 5mph and thats at 400m's not yards. I use a sako 22250 and a zeiss 6-24x56 scope with bdc turrets. This gun will shoot 1 inch groups with factory ammo @ 200m's 200m's 300m's it will do better with hand loads. hand load 100m's top shot was a barrel cleaner. this is from a non custom sako 75 thats now 10 year old, but well looked after. conor
Not all of the damage to the fox's gut was done with the shot. When ever I've shot foxes in the past I always pick them up and dump them on a patch of waste ground near where the farmer keeps haylage bales. When I'd picked this one up by the scruff of the neck and began walking with him the bobbing motion slowly exposed more and more of his gut. By the time I got to the bales 'about 500 yards' they were dragging off the ground. I didnt really want to prod them back in for the sake of a clean photo was thinking it was something else alright! ha ha dont blame you for not sticking the guts back in
