Beauty. Very dark fish, was it out of the Kelp?

we were drifting over some rough ground so may well have been from kelp, caught both within two mins of each other, identical fish. tested the new rod nicely its a grauvell ringless type 10lb to 20lb class , line runs up the center. the wand its been nicknamed. was heavy fog when we were out wonder would it have caused the poor fishing? was using 4oz leadheads with jellies. ate one fillet last nite mixed some beer, flour and a small egg and battered it yum!

Good going. They've gone back to ringless rods have they. I remember back in the 80's there was a beach caster called Cyclops where the line ran up the middle of the blank, never saw anybody using one on the beach but the reviewer was quite impressed with it. It was obviously ahead of its time.

Not a big fan of boat fishing in the fog, especially if you're near the shipping lanes!! Definately time to go inshore!

im impressed with this rod also, took a chance on it and im glad i did. we had two gps systems on board and know the area quite well so the fog wasnt too much of a problem. no shipping lanes that i know of here!! west galway. we usually dont ventute too far off shore, small boats and rough sea are not a great mix! hopefully all going to plan next spell of fine weather myself and a mate are going to to an off shore trip, not ideal angling boats but able to get there quick enough, mines a ring speedboat with 200hp on the back, other is a bigger ring with a 250hp on it. should be fun. teal id love to catch a sea bass none around here tho, went to kerry once after them but the worst weather ever followed us just got wet!

No, the fish mongers was just behind him.:lol::lol:

I find fish of that size taste so much better than the bigger stuff. You ever use them rubber shads up your way Conor?

muggins.

be cheaper buy them in fish mongers!! yes i use shads most of the time, dont catch as much as feathers but usually they a better size of fish with shads. orange seems to work round here. going to make some pirks for next time out see how they go
