What's your view QB78 or 2260

I have had several QB78Ds and I still use one for feral pigeon shooting inside of buildings. Out of the box they can look a bit cheap and cheerful and the power can be as low as about 7ft/lbs - far too low to be trying to shoot live qiarry with. However they are easily tuned. Your best bet is to get a tuning kit from T R Robbs - It costs "about" £50 but it is money well spent. The tuning kit I got from them conatined everything you needed to bring the gun up to the legal limit plus more, which is something you need to be very careful about as it is possible to tune the .22 version to over 15ft/lb while the legal limit is 12 ft/lb. The kit also contained all the parts to tune the trigger and the complete job can be done in under an hour by following the video on the DVD that they supply.

I found the ones that I had were quite accurate even with just a basic "budget" scope on. They can shoot well in warm weather but the power can drop off in colder weather (This is one of the commonest faults with any CO2 powered gun) - Again something thast you need to be aware of if you are taking on live quarry!

My current QB78D is in .177 calibre and tuned to put out around 10.5 ft/lbs - Enough to knock feral pigeons dead but still safe enough to use inside a building without the risk of damaging the srtucture of the building but I can alter the power simply by changing the hammer spring.

If you are set on getting a CO2 gun then I would not hesitate in saying that the QB78 is quite good value for money as long as you tune it up a little. However if you want something that you can take out in the field after live quarry "straight out of the box" then I would suggest that you get a springer that is turning out at least 11 ft/lbs as a QB78 will not have the power that is needed for live quarry and you could end up feeling disapointed!

If you want any further information send me a PM and I will answer whatever questions I can for you.
