Spandrel
My 11 year old son has one of these in .177. I bought it because having tried a few rifles, this one fits him as it is a dedicated junior rifle, most air rifles were just too big for him. Because it fits he can handle it safely and shoot accurately. We havnt shot it any further than 25 yards but up to this range it is accurate. It is easy for someone of your age to cock and has an automatic safety. It is only 6 ft/lbs, therefore unsuitable for hunting but perfect for target practice. If you are planning on hunting, then you will need something with more power, however, if you are new to shooting I wouldnt recommend hunting just yet until you have built up some experience in handling your rifle and shooting it cosistently accurately. This rifle makes a very good starter rifle as it is easy to learn with, easy to handle and a good way to pick up the basics of safety and marksmanship. Good luck with whatever you choose. TaxiDriver
hello i was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the Puma Mako .22. i am 11 so this could be my first gun. You'll find thats a brilliant little gun for the money (About £90 - £100? including scope and gunslip) SMK Market it as the SMK Syntarg I have one bought for my 10yr old son, put a 6x40 scope on it and we shoot it in the garden upto 22metres very accurately and down on the farm it/he isnt to shoddy upto 30metres Easy to cock and the textured plastic coating on the barrel is warm to the touch and keeps rust at bay.
