Tim Kelly
Used to do them monthly in an old Fiat Panda. Got it down to about 3 minutes in the end! Can't help you with the polo, but as long as you can get at the cable route it shouldn't be too complicated.
Pheasant Feeder
Just check it is the cable mate as I thought it was cable on our lass's but it turned out to be pedal box that had collapsed. Hers is a V reg not sure if it is a problem on older models.
kev 1
As above mate, but have done one and was not too bad,the hardest bit was trying to get it on to lever on gearbox, but with a bit of brute foce it went on ok. there is two types though one is self adjusting and the other is manual, the difference is the part of it that clips onto bulkhead one is bigger than the other, best to take a piccy with your mobile phone and compare when you buy your new one, remember the way it goes onto pedal before you take it off,and make sure rubber crommet is in proper place because if not the body work of ar can cut into cable... Took about approx 20 mins...
