firstly the sights, put the mounts on the gun and fasten them up just enough to keep them in place, then loosen off the top of the mounts and rest the scope in place, put the tops back on but do not tighten them up much, put the rifle up into your shoulder as if you were gonna fire it and check you can see through the scope perfectly, if not then try moving it forward or backwards till you can, next make sure that the vertical cross hair in the scope is at pointing straight up and down and not canted slightly to one side, tighten up the mounts but do not over tighten them as this can crush the scope, tighten up the bit where the mounts attach to the guns dove tail rail and your done,

next you need to zero them, remove the screw caps on the top and side of the scope, fire a few shots at a large target placed at the range you intend to shoot most, say 30 yards or so. i prefer white paper with a dot marked on, note where the shots hit and then adjust the scope in the direction you want to move the shot, if your hitting left of the mark then move them right, it'll say on the adjusters which way is which, only move them about 5 clicks at a time, if you hitting above the target then you wanna move the adjuster in the direction that says down and so on, once you get a rough zero start using one click at a time till your hitting your mark, as your new to the game you may get the odd shot that is off target even though you adjusted it the other way, if your not sure leave the scope how it is and try another shot as it may have just been a bad shot on your part,

thats the way i do it and it works for me, others may do it differently, anyway i hope this helps you out :P
