JDFrain
Evening All, I have the opportunity to buy a 2006 jimny priced at £3200 which may be negotiable. The motor is registered as Class C dating back to 2007. it has been repaired and checked etc VIC all that stuff. its got 37k on the clock which seems good just wondering what your opinions are would you entertain a class C motor, i need to contact my insurance company regarding it to see what they say. Any help, advice etc would be appreciated Cheers john
-Mongrel-
If it's professionally repaired and been checked then why not? Should be somewhere between 15% and 25% below normal market value though.
lineshooter
If it's professionally repaired and been checked then why not? Should be somewhere between 15% and 25% below normal market value though. We had the wife`s Ford Escort classed as a Cat C as it was uneconomical to repair,(two bumpers and a headlight, £150) we paid and had it repaired at a reputable bodyshop, so if the Suzuki has had a VIC test and above then go for it. I think you have to inform your insurane company that its a Cat C if you decide to buy though.

silver pigeon 3
I repair cars for a living, including quite a few cat c/d salvage vehicles. As has already been said if repaired correctly all is fine but just make sure that you carefully inspect and drive the vehicle before parting with any cash as it could be grief. If in any doubt ask someone else to come and look or be prepard to walk away. The VIC test only checks the vehicles identity not the quality of the repair. Best of luck mate hope you get a bargain.
