DSPUK
I have recently bought a steel set of wheels for my Focus and three weeks ago had some Nokian winter/cold weather tyres fitted (good reports from German testers)- not used them yet but other day looked them up at place I got them from and they have gone up £20 EACH! - so now on £108 a corner these are 205-55-16 - my standard wheels are 225-40-18. Hope it snows for a few days now. Dave

Dave Even if it doesn´t snow, once the temp drops below PLUS 7c the winter tyres will increase traction, braking, and cornering adhesion by 20-30%, so at least if you need to stop, you´ll stop quicker than anyone without them
DSPUK
I got my winter wheels out of inspection pit ready for bad weather and looking them over they are marked M&S * - They are Nokian WR G2 XL 205/55/16 - cost me £88 each and today are £116 - sure sign it's getting colder prices are rising. Vel Crow
I purchased a set BF Goodrich A/Ts 245/70/16 for my 300tdi Disco from ATS in Denbigh about 6/7 years ago and did 50,000 miles+ on them then sold the Disco 18 months ago and swapped the tyres onto a Mazda B2500 in which ive done about 12000 miles and the have still got loads of tread on them. In all that time i've only ever had one puncture (a nail!), suffered with no road noise atall and never struggled whilst being off road or towing caravans and trailers of 3 tons plus. As i said, i purchased from ATS in Denbigh that at the time had a managers special on 4 tyres for the price of 3 which worked out at £88 each.. outstanding value i think all in all and well worth the money. All that said though i can see them wearing faster on this pick-up(rear mainly) than they did on the Discovery.... suppose nothing lasts for ever :-(
