reggiegun
Hi, I have a leupold VX11 3x9x40 scope, although its very clear on 9x magnification it seems to be not very magnified. More like 5x compared to my other scopes.I am getting varying power when turning from 3 to 9 just seems low power. Anyone found this on their leupold or have I got a problem. Gimlet
I've got one of those, though its not in use on a gun at the moment. I always thought targets looked further away though this scope. It seems to have quite a small reticle, like a front-focal plane reticle on 3 power, and this may be misleading the eye. All Leupolds also have quite long eye relief (about 6") which makes the whole image look smaller, especially with a small object lens- at least I think it does. They're good scopes though, well made, clear and with surprisingly good light gathering for a 40mm. I doubt if there's anything wrong with it. You probably just need to get used to the small reticle. I shot deer to 200 yds with mine.
