.philmypower.
Hi guys been fishing llyn bran alot lately, had plenty of jack pike up to 4lb but nothing much bigger. Thinking of trying llyn alled up the road was wondering if anyone has fished it and what did you think. I know the brenig is open for pike fishing soon but enjoy sitting on the bank as not the greatest of swimmers and the brenig is boat fishing only. Any help would be great fully appreciated

jm7
Did you venture up to Llyn Aled? Any joy?
.philmypower.
Yes went to the alled not a bite between 3 of us, used lamprey, sprats, trout, and smelt aswell as lure fishing but nothing couldn't believe it. Fished the bran a few times usually pull a few jacks out but no man eaters, just fancy catching some decent pike. Considering venturing up to Bala, been told that can be ok. jm7
Saw your reply the night before the day we had already planned to go to the Aled, so feared the worst! We fished 2 deadbait rods, two lighter rods for smaller fish (worm, sweetcorn) and a spinning rod, moved between 3 locations during the day, fished with mackerel, sprat and baby trout. Had something take half a worm a few times early on, then mid afternoon had one take on half a mackerel, hit into it and it bent the rod round, but hooks didnt set and it was off after a couple of winds. Theres something in there, its just hard to catch! Thinking of going up to Bala next week hoping for better action.
